Are you stuck with no time to enhance a proper brunch or a dinner for your guests. Also, this platter ensures people are fed right variety and HEALTHY. Because this platter encourages eating veggies and can act as a side salad plate for that dinner of yours. To me personally, I am not fond of eating raw veggies but gimme a hummus dip along with it, I can munch on a whole bag of carrots along with it. There are days, I just make a hummus dip and eat raw veggies for lunch and even dinner. I just love them and i get extra points for a healthy diet.

I have made pumpkin hummus, avocado hummus in the past but here, I am just going to share the classic hummus recipe alone. Again, I am sorry that I have not taken step by step pictures, but will soon update when I get to make them again. Also, Avocado hummus is my favorite so far, cannot wait to make it. slurp!

Ingredients:

For Classic Hummus:

1. Chickpeas - 1.5 cup (cooked)

2. Tahini paste - 1/4 cup (optional)

3. Cumin Powder - 1.5 tbsp

4. Olive Oil - 3 tbsp + (1 tbsp to garnish)

5. Lemon Juice - 1.5 tbsp

6. Olives - to garnish

For Hummus Platter:

1. Pretzels - 50 gm

2. Crackers - 100 gm

3. Baby Carrots - 1/2 kg (scrape the skin off and trim the tips, but i love leaving the green stem part as it is )

4. Bell Pepper - 1/2 (sliced) (more no. of colors the better)

5. Onions - 1/4 cup

6. Cucumber - 1 (diced)

7. Stuffed Olives - 2 handful

8. Lemon - 2 Wedges

Note that, any dip is accompanied with a range of veggies and crackers. I have done my platter as per the availability of stock in my pantry and refrigerator, so you can very well go ahead and make any changes to it as you want.

Instructions:

For Hummus:

1. Take the cooked chickpeas, tahini paste, cumin powder, olive oil and lemon juice in a blender and grind well. I like to blend in a fine consistency but if your liking differs, you do not have to blend it fine. Also, add very little amount of water while grinding because you do not want a runny hummus. Whenever i add in water while grinding, I remember Gordon Ramsay drinking hummus through a straw in Kitchen Nightmares show. I found that really funny.

2. Now serve the hummus in a small bowl. Make a pattern over it, drizzle some olive oil over it and garnish using Olives.

For Platter:

1. Take a serving board and line up all the ingredients you have with you. I have posted here two of my platters for inspiration. You can do yours as beautiful and different as you want.

If you make them, do send me a picture of it.

It is going to be a busy week for me, wish me luck and hope the same luck goes for you too as well.
